Swiss Financial Services - PCS

Swiss Financial Services (SFS) maintains the bookkeeping of hedge fund managers. To establish the net asset value (NAV) of a fund, all of the prices of the involved funds and instruments must be available and reliable. There is no standard procedure for this process, which additionally increases the complexity of the task. Previously, this work was done with Excel. At some point, the program produced the error message: "You have reached the end of Excel." In other words, it was time to come up with a new solution.

Inventage then developed the Price Collection System (PCS) solution using a 3-tier Java architecture. The hedge fund prices can now be made available to the fund sponsors and investors in the highest possible quality on the cutoff date. Automated reports and e-mail requests for pricing input are also part of the solution. The highest level of security, so that users can only manage "their own" data, is guaranteed with our SecurityEngine.

The solution is a resounding success. In the first 4 years of production, the number of funds for hedge funds, underlying funds, investments and contact relationships has more than tripled. In the meantime, over 6500 prices are being recorded every month.

PCS is used in all of the SFS subsidiaries around the world.
